International Opera Music Day Celebrations

The Teatro Real in Madrid will celebrate the International Opera Day this Saturday, 8^th of May, with a spectacle conceived by the tenor Enrique Viana.  He will also be encouraging and seeking collaboration of the public in the interpretation of well known fragments of Spanish themed opera. There will be two spectacle, one at 12 midday and the other at 9pm. The weather agents and metereologists have predicted a sunny spring day so there should be no problem (However, I will take my umbrella, just in case).

The neighbourhood of Lavapiés (Metro Lavapiés) will host a series of parties, dance spectacles, stand-up comedy, hip hop, concerts, folk music and street shows in commemoration of ¨El Día de Europa¨. The participating countries are Holland, Austria, Rumania, Spain, France ,Chech Republic,  Hungary, Finland, Cyprus and Poland.The proceedings start at 16:00 on the 9th of May and admission is free.Have a look at the full programme here.
